A suspected flying voter was arrested during the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections in Barangay 449, Sampaloc, Manila on Monday.

Manila Police District spokesperson P/Supt. Erwin Margarejo identified the suspect as Fernando Tuazon, 45, of Road 6 Barangay Bagong Silangan St. Quezon City.

Police Station 4 chief commander P/Supt. Aquino Olivar said the suspect arrived at the Trinidad Tecson Elementary School at around 2:30 p.m. and represented himself as a voter from Barangay 449, Zone 44 under the name Fernando Tuazon.

However, suspicions were raised when a Board Election Inspector (BEI) noticed that a certain Fernando Tuazon from the said barangay has already cast his vote earlier.

Election inspectors then sought the help of the authorities from the Uba Police Community Precinct, which led to the arrest of the suspect.

Tuazon, now under the custody of MPD Police Station, will face charges for violation of Omnibus Election Code.
