As of noon during the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections, 87 percent of the cash cards have been delivered, Director IV Joel Erestain, of Deped Procurement and Management Service, confirmed on a press briefer at the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

Currently, 13 percent of the cash cards are yet to be delivered "due to glitch on the courier," Erestain said.

"They (Development Bank of the Philippines) assured us that they will be able to deliver everything before the end of the day. Nagkaroon daw ng glitch doon sa courier (there was a glitch on the courier) but they are already doing their best to deliver 100 percent," the DepEd director added.

A total of 55 municipalities spread out in 12 provinces in the country are still waiting for the cash cards.

According to Erestain, these provinces are Catanduanes, Davao Occidental, Davao Oriental, Dinagat Island, La Union, Masbate, Negros Oriental, Sarrangani, Siquijor, Sulu, Surigao del Norte, and Zamboanga Del Norte.

The DepEd, however, assured that they are continuously delivering the cash cards in a bid to complete all cash cards for teachers within the day.

Thousands of volunteer-teachers were deployed to polling areas during the 2018 Barangay and Sanguniang Kabataan Elections.
