CAMP V. LIM, Laguna- Suspected killers who were brother in law of Sariaya, Quezon councilor Aristeo Ilao were arrested by police and presented them to Police Regional Office 4A regional director Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar, Friday morning.
The suspects Ramil Manaloto Gesmundo, alias “Amir,” 54, a motorcycle mechanic; and Reynaldo Manaloto Gesmundo, alias “Rey,” 50, a welder, to members of media at this camp Friday morning.
Senior Supt. Osmundo de Guzman, Quezon Police Provincial Office (PPO) director, said investigators who checked closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage in Ilao’s neighborhood captured the two fleeing Ilao’s house in Sitio
They were arrested in the follow-up operation after the suspects’ identities were caught in the CCTV of victim’s neighbor.
Quezon Police provincial director was brought the suspects in this camp and presented to the media by Eleazar.
Report added that base on sworn statement of the witnesses, that Ramil was last seen conversing with the victim inside the latter’s house and moments later the witnesses heard bursts of fire inside the house and saw Ramil running away leaving the house of the victim as he and his brother sped off onboard a colored white/black motorcycle of unknown type heading towards Maharlika Highway.
Moreover, Reynaldo served as the back-up and driver of Ramil, who shot the councilor while executing his criminal intent.
Ilao at that time was seated on a dining table when one of the suspects who appeared from behind repeatedly shot the victim on his head.
The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds on his head that died on the spot.
Police recovered from the crime scene were three cellphone under the custody of Sariaya police and will be forwarded to Regional Anti-Cyber Crime Office (RACO), based here, for forensic examination.
