Senior Assistant State Prosecutor Juan Pedro Navera, who heads the panel of prosecutors handling the case, gave the respondents until May 15 to file their respective counter-affidavits.

Navera set the filing of the counter-affidavits after the complainant, Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group’s Major Crimes Investigation Unit (PNP-CIDG-MCIU), finally filed additional evidence in the case last April 30.
