Timberlake was having an exclusive in-studio interview with host Ellen DeGeneres when he suddenly interrupted their discussion and said: “You were so great at the ceremony and I had something there for you. I left it at the ceremony, but I brought it here. It’s a surprise.”

The ‘Sexyback’ singer then brought out his former bandmates Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone, and Chris Kirkpatrick which hyped up everyone in the studio.

The audience cheered loudly as the five sat down to have a chat with Ellen.

“We thought we would surprise the audience and have all of you together in a long time,” Ellen stated, while the group settled in their seats.

Ellen did a little throwback session with the NSYNC members, discussing the boyband’s fashion statement during early 2000’s.

Ellen then asked if the members had kept in touch with each other and all responded yes. JC shared that they had been texting each other and they have their own group chat.

2013 MTV VMAs

The last time that the group performed on stage together was five years ago at the 2013 MTV VMAs. Joey admitted that he was scared at that moment.

“Seriously, because obviously, we haven’t performed together as a group (in a long time)…Especially when we got together though to rehearse. We’re looking at each other going – ‘Alright. We’re just going to sing, right?’ and they’re like – ‘No. We’re going to dance.’ So me and Chris looked at each other. He goes, ‘Oh great. Here we go.’” JC explained.

Chris then clarified that they were told at first that they were just going to sing. He stated that he was ready to sing until a choreographer walked into the scene.

“It was ‘Yeah! Come out! We’re just gonna sing a little bit.’ Me and Joey we’re like ‘Cool. We can step touch. It’s going to be great.’ Then a choreographer shows up and we’re like, ‘Wait – What?’”

Hollywood Walk of Fame

On Monday, NSYNC received a Hollywood Walk of Fame star along the renowned boulevard.

“It’s amazing. As far as a star is concerned, it’s surreal to me.” Joey stated. He then narrated how he and his bandmates dreamt of having a star during their younger years.

“It’s a legacy that we’re living, which is kinda cool. So our great, great, great, great grandkids are going to be able to see that. I think that’s what’s cool about it,” he added.
