The OVP has sent a team to Calauan, Laguna for the blessing and formal turnover of a solar power system to the Don Bosco Technical Vocational Education and Training Center.

The Don Bosco TVET Center was provided solar power system by OVP, with Peace and Equity Foundation as its partner, which assisted them in the project.

According to Vice President Leni Robredo in her official Facebook account, she hoped it will “help reduce the utility costs of the school, and motivate our young Bosconians to direct their energy toward learning better.”

Since she took over the OVP, Robredo has made over a hundred visits to various communities that her office has extended assistance to.

Angat Buhay forges partnerships among private sectors and aid groups to improve the lives of Filipinos in the margins of society. This poverty alleviation project complements the government's conditional cash transfer (CCT) program.

The 53-year-old former housing chief has met with thousands of Filipinos from all walks of life — from farmers in Nueva Ecija to weavers in Ifugao, community organizers in Bukidnon, and business leaders in Makati, among others.

Just recently, Robredo and the Angat Buhay team visited Lanao del Sur to turn over abaca stripping machine to farmers and sewing machines to women dressmakers from war-torn Marawi.

In her weekly radio show, “BISErbisyong Leni,” she said mattresses were given to displaced Marawi residents and coconut oil extracting machine to Tangcal, Lanao del Norte.

Under Angat Buhay, classrooms were also built in Bukidnon as well as toilet facilities and water pumps were provided to far-flung communities in the province.

Robredo said fishermen from Sumisip, Basilan were able to get solar kits through the help of her office and its partners.
