The public can now schedule personal appointments for driver's license application or renewal online as the Land Transportation Office (LTO) introduced its Online Personal Appointment and Scheduling System (PASS).

LTO chief Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante said the move is a "big step towards enhancing our services by utilizing online platform to bring more convenience to the public."

The system, which started to be accessible over the week, can be visited by the public through www.LTO.net.ph.

With the LTO Online PASS, clients can select their preferred LTO site, date and time slot for driver’s license or motor vehicle renewal.

The LTO also assigned dedicated lanes which will process online appointments and evaluate applications for more efficient handling of transactions in their offices.

For now, the LTO has designated four district offices in Marikina, Pasig, Novaliches, and Muntinlupa Extension Office as pilot sites that will accept online scheduling.

However, clients without online appointments or walk-in applications, will still be entertained through normal processing.

Early this year, the LTO launched LTO Kiosk, an interactive touchscreen self-service kiosk which aims to inform the clients about transactions, requirements, and other LTO-related matters.

This month, the office also introduced the Motor Vehicle (MV) Renewal where the transacting public can directly have their MVs assessed and evaluated via the LTO Kiosk instead of queuing at the LTO Evaluator windows.

LTO Management Information Division Dir. Rector Antiga said that both innovations of the LTO piloted at LTO Diliman District Office and are expected to be eventually available in other LTO sites nationwide by the end of this year.#
