Chief Supt. Marcelo Morales, regional police chief, identified the suspects as Sugunop Bentelu, Ares Bentelu, and Rafles Pangutesang, who were all undocumented aliens.

The suspects were nabbed while trying to unload the contraband cigarettes from four fishing boats in the shoreline of Barangay Labangal, this city.

The smuggled cigarettes were set to be delivered to the house of one Malik Toto in sitio Kulasi, Barangay Labangal.

Police have launched manhunt operations against Malik.

Morales said the same Indonesian nationals were earlier arrested for smuggling some P600,000 worth of imported cigarettes from Indonesia in Barangay Calumpang, this city.

The suspects were released from detention after posting the bail.

Morales said the police will ask the court to deny the petition for bail of the suspects.
