Meanwhile, 20 candidates have withdrawn their election bids in the same city.
This was the latest information gathered by Manila Bulletin from the Commission on Elections after the last day of filing of candidacies Saturday.
Lawyer Jerbee Anthony Cortez, Comelec assistant regional director and Ilagan City acting election officer, said that the figure is stil tentative and may change yet.
As of yesterday COMELEC said there are 1868 bets who have filed for the barangay elections while 1,233 others have filed for Sangguniang Kabataan.
Other COMELEC staff said, the work will be less during elections, given the numbers of unopposed candidates.
