Anne Curtis did it again. Almost two years since she joined the New York Marathon, Anne challenged herself again, this time at the London Marathon.

The Kapamilya TV host-actress finished strong at her second world major marathon at 5:12 on Sunday, April 22 (London time). She was not able to attend the wedding of her “It’s Showtime” cohost Billy Crawford with Coleen Garcia on Friday, April 20, as she flew to London days ago.

Anne made sure to document her journey to the finish line. She ran 42 kilometers.

“The @londonmarathon was my hardest race. The hardest to get into and the hardest for me to finish. Don’t get me wrong, the route is much easier than NYC but I did not expect the unusual London heat. The moment I hit 20km at 12:30pm,” Anne posted on Instagram as she also shared a photo of herself kissing her medal.

What made her feat extra special is that she run for a cause as the celebrity advocate for children of UNICEF. She encouraged her followers to donate to UNICEF and she will also match the amount donated.

“I had a hard time breathing, felt dehydrated, the sun was beaming intensely and at one point I wanted to give up (I know. So dramatic) but I k new I was running this for a cause. Running with a mission – For the FILIPINO YOUTH @unicefphils . As painful as it was, it helped me power through those 42 kilometres,” she said..

Her husband Erwan Heussaff was there to give support. Anne thanked the Filipino community for cheering for her at the sidelines.

“You don’t know how much it helped me. Thank you. I’ve read all your posts and I’m so touched by your kind words. Thank you so much! Mistakes and new learnings were made on this run. @londonmarathon you were amazing and my first ever difficult run but I’m coming back for you when I’m done with the world majors!! Just you wait,” she said.

Prior the marathon, Anne asked for prayers for a safe run. She stayed motivated knowing that her run is for a good mission that will be able to help those in need. As of posting, Anne has raised more than her target goal of P84,000

“All set! The day has come!! After months of training for the @londonmarathon , I’m so ready!!!! 🏃🏻‍♀️Got butterflies in my tummy! Super nervous but running for the Filipino Youth will keep me inspired each kilometre! Here weeeeeee gooooooo! Prayer warriors, please pray for me that I have a safe run without injury or complications. Thaaaaaank you,” she posted.
