LIAN, Batangas — A 22-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her husband as she threatened to leave him last Saturday night in Barangay Bagong Pook, this town.
Senior Police Officer 1 Primitivo Dayandayan, case investigator from the Lian Municipal Police Station (MPS), said Zarah Jane Acosta was allegedly killed by her husband, Jimuel Acosta, 28, in front of their seven-year-old son.
Dayandayan said the two had a quarrel as Jimuel was allegedly jealous of someone else.
In the middle of their marital spat, Zarah prepared to leave the house with their son.
At this juncture, Jimuel took out his fan knife and allegedly stabbed his wife repeatedly in the chest, the investigator said.
Zarah was taken to the hospital, but declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Jimuel fled the crime scene, but was later arrested in a follow-up operation in Barangay Kapito, same town.
A parricide case is being prepared for filing against him.
