2 minors busted in anti-drug operation

Twelve drug suspects, including two minors were arrested during an anti-illegal drugs operation in Quezon City before dawn yesterday.

Superintendent Rossel Cejas, chief of the Quezon City Police District-Batasan Police Station (PS-6), said that a buy-bust operation was hatched after it was confirmed that a 17-year old boy, was involved in the illegal drugs trade in Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City.

An undercover police officer arranged a transaction with the teenager and his father, Robert De Leon, 39 in front of their residence along Santa Maria Street.

After sealing the P200 transaction, the arresting team moved in and arrested the duo.

Twelve other individuals inside the residence of the arrested drug peddlers, including a 16-year old boy, were likewise arrested for sniffing shabu fumes and posessions of sachets of shabu.

The 11 arrested adults were identified as Prince De Leon, 21; Prey Sanchez, 22;  Ricardo De Guzman, 42; Don Ramos, 25; Kenneth Tomas, 27; Danny Ballesteros, 47; Pina Macaraeg, 39; Ismael Alban, 37 and Alexander Martinez, 23, all residents of Barangay Holy Spirit.

Authorities confiscated from the arrested suspects 12 sachets of illegal drugs with an estimated value of P25,000, aluminum foil strips, a disposable lighter and marked money.

The two minors will be turned over to the City Social Services Department while the rest will face drug-related charges.
