Tagbilaran City — The provincial government expects displaced workers in Boracay, Aklan, to hunt for jobs in Bohol.

Provincial Administrator Alfonso Damalerio II said Friday there were jobseekers from Boracay who were scouting for employment in the province.

Damalerio did not go into details.

He said about 30,000 workers will be displaced once the country’s premier tourist destination shuts down for six months starting April 26 to fix environmental issues.

Damalerio said the province will also beef up security ahead of the anticipated increase in tourist arrivals once Boracay closes.

The security task force met last Thursday to review its operational plans.
