Maynilad announces water cuts in Cavite areas

By Philippine News Agency

Maynilad has advised water consumers the planned temporary shut-down of its Pagcor Pumping Station, which could result in low pressure to no water supply in Cavite, particularly in the cities of Bacoor and Imus; and the towns of Kawit, Rosario, Noveleta, from 10:00 p.m. on April 18 to 5:00 a.m. on Apr 20.

In an advisory released on Monday, Maynilad said the temporary shut-down will give way to a road-widening project, originally scheduled for March but later postponed following an emergency with a defective valve along Coastal Road.

Maynilad advises its affected customers to store enough water early on, to prevent simultaneous heavy withdrawals of water from its pipelines, which may result to reduced water pressure and to water supply cut earlier than scheduled.

To ease the impact, Maynilad is deploying water tankers on stand-by and ready to deliver portable water to affected areas to augment its installed stationary water tanks in some areas to serve as water-gathering points.

Once service is resumed, customers are advised to let the water flow until clear.

Maynilad apologizes to its customers for the inconvenience this may cause.

For concerns, Maynilad may be reached through its hotline 1626, or through its Cavite Toll Free No. ‎1800-1000-92837.
