Carnapper, 9 other wanted persons arrested in Caraga

An alleged carnapper and 9 other wanted persons were arrested by police units during their intensified ‘Manhunt Charlie’ drive in various parts of Caraga region on Wednesday.

Chief Supt. Noli A. Romana, regional director of Northeastern Mindanao Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) said the wanted persons were arrested by virtue of warrants of arrest issued by local courts in the region.

Suspect Orlando Serafin, 20, was arrested through warrant of arrest for two counts of alleged violation of RA No. 6539 (Anti-Carnapping Act of 1972), the region’s police chief said.

In Agusan del Norte, Jabonga Municipal Police Station (MPS) arrested No. 6 Most Wanted Person Janglyn Paulino Garlope, 27, a resident of Barangay Pagtilaan, Lingig, Surigao del Sur for Adultery.

Cabadbaran City Police Station arrested Jessie Cabusao, 19, for violation of Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Agusan del Sur police operatives also arrested No. 9 Most Wanted Person Dexter Plaza, 35, for Slight Physical Injuries; Richard Gregorio, 28, for Theft of Minerals ; and Edgar Villa, 36, for violation of the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004.

In Surigao del Norte, Danilo Alatraca, 62, was arrested for involvement in a Qualified Theft case; Ferdinand Alamban, 58, for Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004 while Edgardo Polangco, 58, voluntarily surrendered to Pilar PNP due to his warrant of arrest for Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Multiple Injuries and Damage to Property, Chief Supt. Romana said.

Meanwhile, suspect Jesrel Grumia, 37, was arrested for violation of PD 705 (Revised Forestry Code of the Philippines) in Tago, Surigao del Sur, he said.

“Caraga PNP appealed to the public to call hotline numbers if they have leads on the whereabouts of other wanted criminals,” the region’s police chief said, in his appeal on Thursday.
