A lucky graduating IT student was picked by Katy Perry on stage during her “Witness: The Tour” concert in Manila on Monday night.
The American pop star surprised everyone when she suddenly picked Josh Madrid who was wearing his graduation toga that time.
Upon getting on stage, Madrid could hardly contain himself and hugged Perry so tight.
“You look so… educated!” Perry said.
The singer asked Madrid why he was wearing a toga with Perry’s name and tour logos on them.
“Tomorrow is my graduation,” the student said.
Perry then approached the student to teach her some Tagalog words and asked him to translate phrases like “It’s great to be here” and “I love my KatyCats.”
Before leaving the stage, Madrid asked for a selfie and Perry quickly posed for wacky photo.
“Let’s graduate with style!” the singer said.
“Enjoy yourself and your new life and all of the likes you’re going to get on that photo,” she added.
Madrid shared his selfie moment with Perry on Twitter.
“KATYCATS OMG KATY INVITED ME TO HER WITNESS: THE TOUR STAGE AND I’M ABOUT TO CRY WALKING UP TO HER STAGE TO TEACH HER SOME FILIPINO WORDS AND I’M SO STARSTRUCK TO HER I CAN’T ANSWER HER QUESTIONS SINCE I’M SO OVERWHELMED AND SPEECHLESS FROM WHAT IS HAPPENING OMG I’M SHOOK FOREVER,” the student wrote.
“THIS WOULD BE THE HAPPIEST AND BESTEST GRADUATION GIFT EVER OMG I CAN’T BELIEVE KATY MADE THAT WITH ME TO FINALLY HANGOUT WITH HER OR EVEN MEET HER ON THE WITNESS: THE TOUR STAGE I WILL FOREVER TREASURE THE MOMENTS THAT WE HAVE ON THE EVENT SHOW I’M SO BLESSEDT OMG WIG,” he added.
“Witness: The Tour” is the fourth concert tour by American singer-songwriter Katy Perry, in support of her fifth studio album, Witness (2017).
