Balladeer Bert Nievera, 81, has passed away. His son, singer Martin Nievera, announced the sad news on Tuesday, March 27, on his Instagram account.

“#RobertinParadise I can’t believe you’re gone. Life will never be the same again,” Martin posted. Bert reportedly died from multiple organ failure.
Martin paid tribute to his father, posting a photo of the father and son with a heartwarming caption. “’You gave me llife, you gave me dreams, you gave me a haircut.’ I will never forget you dad. I love you.”
Bert, who rose to fame in the '60s, was discovered when he joined the show “Student Canteen.” His career also flourished in the US and he became part of the singing group Society of Seven.
Martin’s son also posted a touching message for his grandfather, whom he said “the one that started it all.” Their talent and passion for singing was also passed on to Martin’s sons Robin and Ram.
“To the one that started it all. The one that keeps singing even though he "forgot the stupid words." Thank you for the memories, Lolo. I love you and I will miss you,” Robin posted.
Martin’s ex-wife, Pops Fernandez, also recalled her good memories of Bert.
“To daddy bert nievera.. my second dad... may you rest in peace... so saddened to hear this news... thank you for all the beautiful memories... 😢😢😢😢condolences to the nievera family,” she posted on Instagram along with the photo of Bert with Martin and Robin onstage.
