#WalangPasok: List of class suspensions for March 19, 2018 (Monday)

To prevent students from being stranded on the streets as a result of the nationwide transport strike launched by jeepney operators, several schools in Metro Manila have suspended classes.

Below is the list of areas and schools where classes have been suspended for Monday, March 19, due to a transport strike:

De La Salle University (all levels, including offices in Taft, Laguna, Makati, and Bonifacio Global City campuses)

Far Eastern University (all levels, including offices in Manila and Makati campuses)

Polytechnic University of the Philippines (all levels, except College of Law)

Colegio de San Juan de Letran (all levels, including offices)

Santa Isabel College (all levels, including offices)

University of Santo Tomas (all levels)

Scholastica’s College, Manila (all levels)

St. Paul University Manila (all classes)

University of the East (Kinder to Grade 6)


Quezon City (all levels; public and private)

San Pablo, Laguna (all levels; public and private)

Mayor Joseph Estrada, however, has announced the suspension of classes on all levels in public and private schools in Manila.

Consecutively, Malacañang also suspended classes in Metro Manila during the outgoing transport strike. Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea said the class suspension at all levels is effective 2 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has lifted its number coding scheme to reduce the impact of today’s nationwide transport strike on the public.

The Pinagkaisang Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Opereytor Nationwide (Piston) said it would lead the transport strike to protest the government’s jeepney modernization program plan.
