In an official statement, the hotel's management also clarified that the "ongoing welding works in the renovation site of the hotel's casino" did not spark off the blaze. It also "categorically" denied that the "facility's sprinkler system did not function during the fire incident."

The management also assured that families of the affected are "assisted and taken care of".

Meanwhile, the public and the media were urged to wait for the final and official report from the Bureau of Fire Protection's investigation.
