Election lawyer Alberto Agra was appointed by the new leadership of the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) as General Counsel, POC president Ricky Vargas, who also filled key positions yesterday.
Former POC president Jose “Peping” Cojuangco was installed as chairman of the Constitutional revisions and amendments while Richard Bachman of squash was assigned to man the Membership committee.
The Finance department will be headed by Al Panlilio while Joey Romasanta will lead the Ways and Means.
“I am honored to be designated, General Counsel. As such, I will render legal opinions and assist the POC officers. In particular, I will help the Secretary-General in the performance of his Corporate Secretary duties. I intend to be professional and academic in the exercise of my functions. I plan to do a legal audit,” said Agra in a statement.
Boxing secretary general Ed Picson will serve as spokesperson and communications director.
The Athletes Commission will be made up of Rio Olympics silver medalist Hidilyn Diaz and triathlon’s Nikko Huelgas.
