K-pop boy band Big Bang member Taeyang has enlisted in the Korean army to start his mandatory military service.

The 29-year-old singer entered the 6th Infantry Recruit Training Center in Cheorwon, Gangwon Province on March 12 where he will undergo basic military training for his active duty appointment.
Before he entered the camp, Taeyang greeted his fans and media with a salute and bow. Fans bearing banners greeted Taeyang to bid him goodbye.
A day before his enlistment, Taeyang posted photos of him with a shaved head on his Instagram account. The photos are for the April issue of Elle Korea, according to YG Life blog.
T.O.P and G-Dragong are currently fulfilling their military service while Daesung will also enlist on March 13.
Meanwhile, Big Bang has released a new single titled “Flower Road." The song was written by G-Dragon and T.O.P, and composed and arranged by G-Dragon and The Fliptones. The song was created by Big Bang about their military service.
Taeyang will be discharged on Dec. 11, 2019.
