Blood donors will be entitled to Uber fare discount after the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) recently inked a partnership with the said transport network company (TNC).
The partnership was made official during Uber’s fourth anniversary celebration last February 23 in Makati City.
PRC said blood donors will get a R100 discount when availing of Uber’s services.
Oscar Palabyab, PRC secretary general, said that he is hoping that such will be done in other parts of the country to entice more people to help.
“We save lives when we deliver blood on time. We save lives by connecting individuals who want to donate to vulnerable communities by taking advantage of free Uber rides. We hope that this will be replicated in other parts of the country,” he said.
He added that Uber will provide promo codes when calamities strike to allow riders to easily donate and transport relief goods to the PRC national headquarters in Mandaluyong City, and to PRC Port Area in Manila.
