Marawi City – President Rodrigo Duterte inaugurated on Wednesday the Bahay Pag-asa Phase 2 Immediate Shelter Accommodation project for the affected residents of the Marawi crisis in Barangay Mipaga here.

This is the second set of houses turned over by the Tarlac Heritage Foundation and the Chinese-Filipino Business Club. The first set located in Barangay Bito Itowa Buadi was inaugurated by President Duterte in October last year.
The housing project was completed in partnership with the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ Mechanized Infantry Division, the 2nd Mechanized Brigade, the 1st Infantry (TABAK) Division, the 54th Engineer Brigade and the 547 Engineering Combat Battalion.
Dr. Isa C. Suntay, co-founder of the Tarlac Heritage Foundation said: “Bahay Pag-asa Phase 2 Immediate Shelter Accommodation project is a testament to the success of private-public partnership.”
Suntay said the creation of the community complex takes into account the welfare, the dignity and the comfort of the internally displaced persons (IDPs).
The Bahay Pag-asa Phase 2 housing complex features 60 single detached houses with individual kitchen, toilet and bath facilities. Each house measures 23.76 square meters and the entire housing complex sits on a one-hectare lot.
The compound has a deep well, water storage facilities, electric power connections, a community center, volleyball and basketball courts, a children’s playroom and learning center, parking lots, and a 500 square meter Hardin ng Lunas vegetable and herbal garden.
