10 a.m. – NU vs FEU (Men’s)
2 p.m. – UP vs UST (Women’s)
4 p.m. – NU vs FEU (Women’s)
National University tries to preserve its unbeaten run when it squares off with dangerous Far Eastern University today in UAAP women’s volleyball at The Arena in San Juan City.
Game time is at 4 p.m. with the Lady Bulldogs seeking their sixth consecutive triumph to tighten their grip of the top spot.
Currently the leading attack team in the league, expect NU to turn to 6-foot-5 sensation Jaja Santiago in dominating the net with the help of versatile setter Jasmine Nabor.
Santiago boasts of a 46 percent success rate in her attack plays, making her the leading top spiker at the moment.
But FEU has its defensive arsenal in Celine Domingo, the leading blocker so far who is expected to provide solid cover behind the net.
The Lady Tamaraws are on a two-game roll that put them at 3-2, and another triumph would arrange them a three-way tie with fancied teams Ateneo and La Salle at second place.
Meanwhile, University of the Philippines and University of Santo Tomas try to get back on their feet when they meet at 2 p.m.
The Lady Maroons are on a four-game slide to remain near the bottom standings at 1-4, including a 25-20, 25-22, 28-26 loss to the Ateneo Lady Eagles over the weekend, while the Tigresses bowed to the Lady Bulldogs, 25-19, 14-25, 25-19, 28-26, for 2-3 on the same day.
Though coming off a defeat, UST coach Kungfu Reyes expects his stalwarts to rise to the challenge, particularly diminutive spiker Sisi Rondina.
Rondina, however, needs more support from her teammates to outplay a hungry UP side, which will rely on Tots Carlos and Isa Molde.
