Vice President Ma. Leonor “Leni” Robredo met with Singapore Deputy Prime Minister Teo Cheen Hean who called on her at the Quezon City Reception House, where she holds office.
Robredo and Hean on Thursday discussed topics on socioeconomic development that included housing and education policies.
According to the Office of the Vice President, they also exchanged views on ways to promote sustainable and inclusive growth in the two countries.
In her Facebook post, Robredo said she hopes that they “work together in similar advocacies that will benefit our fellow Filipinos” in Singapore.
The deputy prime minister came to visit Robredo at her office, along with Singaporean Ambassador Kok Li Peng, members of the Parliament Christopher de Souza, Henry Kwek, and Sun Xueling.
Joining them were other officials from the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Singapore.
A statement from Ministry of Foreign Affairs said their meeting reaffirmed the Philippines-Singapore robust relations.
Hean, who is also the Coordinating Minister for National Security, visited the Philippines from January 31 to February 2. He also met with other key officials from the Duterte administration.
It was reported he had a meeting with Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, National Security adviser Hermogenes Esperon Jr, and Department of Interior and Local Government officer-in-charge General Eduardo Año.
