At present, portions of the Roman Highway in 1st District have already seen the construction of the six-lane road-widening project, but Garcia wanted it to be fast-tracked further with the entry of new investors and the expansion of existing multi-national companies in the province, particularly in the Freeport Area of Bataan and Hermosa Ecozone, among others.

Among those who participated in the meeting were 2nd District Engr. Ulysses Llado, 1st District Engr. Erlindo Flores, Provincial Engr. Ric Yuzon, Businessman Gody Ilagan, president of Camaya coast and the Ferry boat operating Manila-Orion; Atty. Joey Angeles, head of the province’s Public-Private-Partnership (PPP); Metro Bataan Dev Authority General Manager Charlie Pizarro, ENRO head Vic Ubaldo, Engr. Loreto Marcelino, general manager of the Peninsula Electric Cooperative Inc. (PENELCO), among others.

Aside from the road widening, Garcia wanted the group to also share their ideas and expertise on how to further improve the Roman Highway, a major road linking Bataan-Clark-SBMA.

During the meeting, Yuzon appealed to the DPWH to refrain from issuing any more permits for structures on the highway so as not to impede the road development.
