Manila Bulletin receives award from POPCOM

BUTUAN CITY - The Commission on Population (POPCOM) has conferred a Certificate of Appreciation to the Manila Bulletin for its support to the agency through coverage and publishing of stories relevant to the agency’s advocacies.

Mike U. Crismundo of Manila Bulletin, received the Certificate of Recognition in behalf of the Manila Bulletin. The award was handed over yesteray afternoon by POPCOM 13 Regional Director Alexander A. Makinano during the last day (Jan. 14) in the two-day championships POPCOM-Caraga Region 13 Inter-LGU Basketball Tournament dubbed as the “Kalalakihang Tumutugon sa Responsibilidad at Obligasyon Para sa Pamilya (KATROPA) on the Hardcourt” held at Father Saturnino Urios University (FSUU) Gymnasium in Butuan City.

“In grateful acknowledgement for the invaluable contribution and continued support by way of disseminating information of Population Concerns, Plans and Programs of the agency as way of communicating the Philippine Population management Program (PPMP) in support to the population thrusts of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, “ part of the citation read.

The KATROPA on the Hardcourt is a continuing advocacy of POPCOM Caraga Region 13 for both its Responsible Parenthood-Family Planning (RP-FP) and Adolescent Health Development (AHD) as strategic components of the PPMP.
