MANILA, Philippines — De La Salle-Lipa A (DLSL) and Colegio San Agustin (CSA) essayed a pair of straight-set wins to compete the semifinal cast in the Toby’s Junior Volleyball League at the Toby’s Arena in Pasig City last weekend.

The DLSL tossers bested the Jaguars, 25-15, 25-9, to close out its elims campaign with a 4-1 card and join unbeaten Hope Christian High School (5-0) in the semis of Girls A side of the event sponsored by Toby’s Sports and organized by Metro Sports.

CSA took the second semis seat in Girls B as it trounced De La Salle-Lipa B (DLSL-B), 25-10, 25-15, for a 4-1 mark, next to De La Salle-Zobel (DLSZ-B), which also posted a 5-0 card after repulsing CSA, 25-19, 25-20, in a duel of leaders in the event backed by Shakey’s, Mikasa and Asics.

Palanan Elem. School (PES) outlasted Concepcion Elem. School (CES), 25-22, 25-21, to clinch the No. 1 spot in Boys A with a 6-0 record. CES earned the other berth with a 5-1 mark.

DLSL likewise pulled off a 25-16, 25-15 romp over Academy of God’s Children (AGC) to claim the top seat in Boys B with a 6-0 slate. AGC settled for second at 5-1.

PES takes on AGC while CES battles DLSL in the crossover semis on Saturday morning with the winners disputing the crown in the afternoon. In girls’ play, HCS squares off with CSA while DLSL and DLSZ mix it up for the other finals berth.
