MANILA, Philippines – Jomari Yllana’s relationship with his older brother Anjo Yllana is something that borders to more than siblings.

“Until mga 21 years old ako ang tingin ko sa kanya tatay talaga,” Jomari enthused.

That said, the actor explained why he did not see Anjoy as a competitor even if they are in the same business – entertainment.

“Anjo is more of a father than a brother kasi siya ang breadwinner. Siya ‘yung nagpaaral sa amin, may hawak ng responsibilidad sa amin. ‘Yung father ko kasi nagkasakit at nawalan ng trabaho kaya mas naging close kami,” Jomari revealed during a recent media huddle.

“It was never a brother na relationship,” Jomari tells of his closeness with Anjo. “Sa dugo lang kami magkapatid pero sa pagpapalaki parang magulang siya.”

Now that they’re both parents, “mas naging closer kami. Mas nagkakaroon kami ng bonding time”.

The actor feels sad that he lost a brother (Robbie) to complications of diabetes two years ago.

“It’s something that you never got over with. You have to learn with it. Parang hindi naman siguro nawawala ‘yung pain. Parang ‘yung pain nandiyan yata palagi.”
