MANILA, Philippines – Kapuso actress Iwa Moto now finds herself in a tight spot after her recent co-hosting gig on rival network TV5's “Wiltime Bigtime.”

As related by Cristy Fermin on “Paparazzi” in a taped exclusive interview with Iwa aired on Jan. 22, the actress allegedly was “denied” work by her mother network for eight months due to – as Iwa believes – the much-publicized scandals following her breakup with longtime non-showbiz boyfriend Mickey Ablan last year. With her mother falling ill and no one else to turn to for work, Iwa finally decided to ask Willie for help.

But this didn’t sit well with GMA-7 as they reportedly sent a letter to Willie, informing him that Iwa is not allowed to appear on any show outside GMA-7 until after her contract has finished.

Iwa explained, “Meron po kasi sa kontrata namin [between her and GMA] na dapat mutual ‘yung understanding na gagawin ko lahat ng gusto nilang gawin pero bibigyan nila ‘ko ng pagkakataon para mabuhay.

“Wala po kasi akong guarantee [sa kontrata]. Bale po ‘pag walang trabaho, walang sweldo,” she revealed.

Iwa also talked about taking up a part-time job in Japan as cashier “para po kahit papa’no po mabuhay kami.”

The actress admitted that her situation, from being an actress here to being a cashier, initially saddened her.

In another part of the interview, Iwa acknowledged her flaws but expressed willingness to change for the better.

I think the situation of the actress should also consider by the mother network. I believe she should follow the contract however if the situation like this - consideration should be consider, especially if this is her bread and butter alone. Good advice before signing a contract - read and understand. If you think unnecessary situation would happen - ask what would be the option that the contract would be given.
