Cartoon Network offers HD channel

MANILA, Philippines — Filipinos will be the first audience in the South East Asian region to experience kids’ television in high definition, with the launch of Cartoon Network HD in the country Friday.

“It’s because the Philippines is a very important market for us,” declared Lucien Harrington, Vice President, Branding & Communications, Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific, Inc.

Hence, starting Thursday on the SKYcable platform, Cartoon Network HD will offer kids and their families the ultimate TV destination featuring award-winning shows such as The Amazing World of Gumball, Ben 10, The Looney Tunes Show and Dragon Ball Z Kai.

“Kids have growing expectations about the quality of their entertainment,” he explained. “Cartoon Network HD sets a new standard in kids’ television and viewers can now watch their favorite series with never-before-seen detail, color and audio.”

Cartoon Network HD subscribers can sign up for the service as part of SKYcable’s HD package priced at P1,199 per month. Cartoon Network HD will broadcast on channel 178 and complements the existing standard definition offering on channel 43.
