Huge volume of garbage collected after Nazarene Procession

MANILA, Philippines — Despite the appeal of Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Tagle during his homily on Monday to minimize the amount garbage from the millions of devotees that attended the vigil and procession of the Black Nazarene image, huge volume of trash has surround the Quirino Grandstand and nearby areas.
According to Francis Martinez, chief of the Metro Parkway Cleanup Group (MPCG) of the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) that at least 1,000 sacks of garbage has been collected by their street sweepers and oysters along the vicinity of the grandstand after the start of the procession around 8 a.m. Monday.
