Single mom LJ Reyes is taking her sweet time concerning marriage

MANILA, Philippines – Despite their having a baby out of wedlock, actress LJ Reyes is not yet ready to marry actor Paulo Avelino.

 "Naku! Huwag naman soon," said she in a recent interview with PEP. "Feeling ko kasi, marami pang dapat ayusin.”

Reyes believes going into marriage shouldn’t be rushed just because it's convenient to do so.

"I mean, kasi siyempre iyong situation naman namin is different from other couples, di ba? There are so many adjustments [to be made]. Hindi naman kailangang madaliin iyon," she averred.

Not that Reyes is the only one being reluctant about it. Apparently, Avelino hasn't even proposed to her.

"Hindi pa, wala pa kami doon, e,” she said.

Asked if the issue is bothering her somehow or if it has caused a crack in their relationship, Reyes gave adamant answer.

“Wala. It’s still the same,” she stressed.

As regards Avelino making the jump to ABS-CBN, where he is now busy with several projects, Reyes said that she could only be happy for him.

"I'm so happy and proud of him. Siyempre, nakakatuwa na may nararating siya, di ba?" she said.

But she was candid enough to admit that, of late, it has been quite difficult for both of them to agree on their schedule.

Not that she is fussing about it. "Kasi kahit naman noong nasa GMA siya, e, may work naman kami pareho kaya minsan hindi nagma-match yung schedule,” she defended.

Sensing that the statement might prove confusing to some, specifically in light of so many relationships going bust for less significant reasons, she went on, "Depende naman [kasi] 'yon on the both of you, if you will find time for each other. Kasi in whatever relationship naman talaga, if you're committed, di ba, kung work man 'yon or friendship or sa family, you will make it work."
