Halili-Cruz dancers bag top prize at international tilt
MANILA, Philippines — The Halili-Cruz School of Ballet (HCSB) ís the grand slam winner in the 13th Asia Pacific Dance Competition held recently at the Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand. HCSB won most of the major prizes in the Bangkok tilt which was participated in by over 800 dancers from various dance companies and schools in the region.
HCSB won two aggregate trophies, eight perpetual trophies, 36 gold trophies, 32 silver trophies, 20 bronze trophies and 64 medals in classical ballet, neo-classical, demi character, modern, national and lyrical.
The artistic team, led by artistic director Shirley Halili-Cruz, ballet teachers and choreographers Grace Garalde-Perez, Anna Tuazon-Balmadrid and Anna Kathrina Halili Cruz, trained the 93 dancers who won in the competition.
The HCSB is the official representative of the Philippines to the Asia Arts Festival in Chongqing and Shanghai, China, in October and in England in November.
