LA TRINIDAD, Benguet, Philippines (PNA) - The Benguet Provincial Police Office started implementing on Monday a week-long intensified security along Kennon Road, Marcos Highway and Quirino Highway where scores of motorists pass going to Baguio City.

Police Senior Superintendent Benjamin Lusa, Benguet provincial police director, said the full security of motorists is one of the province's contribution to the on-going "Oplan Summer Vacation" (SUMVAC) of Baguio City.

To date, the SUMVAC is in full swing in the mountain resort as hundreds of visitors have started to arrive for the observance of the Lenten Season and summer vacation.

Also visible within the main thoroughfares are motorists and communications and assistance groups that are giving support to the area's tourism industry.

At this early, several fruit stands and mobile refreshment kiosks are put up along the highways to give rest and comfort to the travelers.

In the country, it is a tradition for the people to go back to their respective home provinces to observe the religious holidays with their respective family and relatives. (PNA)
