Kiko wants Willie to 'go'

Kiko joins move calling for the 'expulsion' of Willie Revillame [inset]

MANILA, Philippines – If Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan would have his way, he’d rather that we bid embattled TV host Willie Revillame adieu, and for good.

Expressing his sentiments via Twitter, Pangilinan, husband of Megastar Sharon Cuneta, deems the TV host "unrepentant, arrogant and incorrigible," this following the TV host's threat on Friday, April 8, to sue his critics including Jim Paredes, Agot Isidro, Mylene Dizon, Bianca Gonzalez, Tuesday Vargas, Aiza Seguerra and Lea Salonga for commenting on the controversial issue involving six-year old Jan-Jan Suan.

In a Twitter post April 9, Pangilinan said, “Willy R threatens 2 sue those who criticizd him on Twittr. This arrogant unrepentant & incorrigible TV host has gone 2 far & shld go."

Pangilinan went on to seemingly address Revillame directly, adding, "Sue me 2.”

Via the same platform, Pangilinan explained that his decision to support the clamor for Revillame’s expulsion was hinged on his concern for the welfare of children. He expressed that his need to tweet about the matter was also due in part to Revillame’s seeming unapologetic stance.

“I was quiet but have decided to speak up especially since there is no remorse on his part,” he tweeted. “Kapag bata na ang inaabuso at batas ng bansa na ang nilalabag hindi na ito biro biro at maaring tawanan,” he added.

Pangilinan went on to shrug several tweets that ran counter to his stand.

“As a public official I cannot please everyone,” he said.

Revillame and TV5 has yet to release a comment concerning Pangilinan's tweets.

I was dismayed about the comments coming from a respectable senator, ibinoto ko pa naman siya. Mr. kiko sana naman before u post ur comment pinanood mo sana ung whole episode. willy is really misjudged. I'm wondering kung bakit ang dami daming nakikisawsaw without knowing the whole truth. If you allow any minor to do stuffs that are relegated to adults, whether there is consent or not, is an utter molestations.

it is in the same manner, when you fondle or have sex with a minor, whether the minor agreed to it or not, is a corruption or molestations.

the whole scene was televised in a national tv.

the laws of any society dictates that minors must be protected from abuse whether they agreed to it or not, especially if the minor is a child and not even a young adult.

There is no question about willies' show, it does help many people. The only problem was his arrogant behavior and the way he responded to these comments. A little humility won't hurt will. hahahha

I agree with you Sen. Kiko. He doesn't deserve to be on TV. See how he made fun of the kid? How he keeps on asking the kid to repeat dancing 'though he's crying already? He needs to go, but as long as there are people who patronize his kind of humor and who thinks he's the one who will save them from poverty, then Willie will saty and be more arrogant.

i got a chance to see the incident on youtube and i find it funny but i feel like the child was uncomfortable and teary eyed while doing it.

i think people should see this situation in different perspectives because this is not the only circumtance that we see on tv on day-to-day basis.

this was only sensationalized by media and somehow the situation opened the possibilities to attack willies character. i am not a fan of willie nor the show but to shed the light to those who are angry beyond reasonable doubts.

there is a lot of issues to put our attention to all over the world and people are spending a lot of time on this when in fact this can be resolved in a closed door environment away from the media.

Ignorance of the law excuses no one including Willie. Dapat walang kinilingan ang batas. Ang DSWD ay may case, trabaho lang nila iyun. Wag nyo ilayo ang issue. Di nyo napansin hinatulad ni Willie ang sa isang macho dancer. Dapat ba iyun? At pinalabas pa ang bata sumayaw uli kasama ang dancers. Parang nga idolatry iyun. Sinasamba yung bata habang sumayaw.

Sen Pangilinan, As you can see, people who support Revillame or his behaviour are now fuming, swearing at you and attacking your character. This is exactly the mentality of people who watch his show. I'm not surprised about how they express their rage. This is a reflection of the values they learn from him.
And oh, I wouldn't be surprised if the comments are actually from only one and same individual using different user names. I can tell, can't you?

Its all part of entertainment .......and the intent was to have a family
