Krista Ranillo on son being beset with intrigues: ‘Spare him’

MANILA, Philippines – First-time mom Krista Ranillo turned emotional over the latest set of malicious rumors that even her newborn son was not spared from.
Since she gave birth last April 5 to her son with businessman Niño Jefferson Lim, Nathan Jacob, “running jokes” that the 8.6-pound baby boy resembled Filipino boxing champ, Manny Pacquiao, were said to have surfaced.
Krista, as many may well remember, became one of the most controversial personalities of 2009 after she was rumored to have an illicit affair with Manny. The two have consistently denied the allegations.
In a phone interview with “The Buzz” aired last April 10, the former sexy star related that she is aware of the recent intrigues---which neither she nor the show specified--- that seem to intently hound her even when she’s already based in the US.
“Siyempre may mga naririnig rin ako. Minsan may nababasa rin ako na hindi rin maganda. Sobra kong ikinalulungkot. Just try to be happy na lang for us,” said Krista.
She pleaded to her seemingly tireless detractors to exempt her son from the issues.
“Spare naman nila ‘yung inosenteng bata na wala namang kasalanan… Wala siyang ginagawa. I get really emotional kasi it’s hard, alam mo ‘yon, when you read stuff… I just want people to be happy for me, that’s all. If wala silang maganda sanang sasabihin, about sa baby, sana keep it nalang to themselves. Kasi as a mom, masakit pala talaga,” Krista said, her voice cracking.
Controversies aside, Krista finds motherhood “fulfilling.”
“Nakakawala ng pagod. Nafi-feel ko talaga lahat. Nagpapa-breastfeed kasi ako, round-the-clock, tapos binu-burp ko siya, tapos pinapalitan namin ‘yung diaper. Talagang gusto kong maging hands-on mom sa kanya,” she enthused.
She also recalled shedding tears of joy the first time she held their new angel.
“Nung nilagay siya sa chest ko, ‘yung na-feel ko talaga siya, tapos iyak siya nang iyak… Parang may connection talaga, may bond. Parang dun na ko naging emotional na, wow, totoo na pala ‘to. And then iba eh, it just changes your life talaga...” said Krista.
Krista, who was on labor for five hours at the Northridge Hospital in California, initially opted for an all-natural procedure. However, she eventually resorted to epidural anesthesia.
“Pag nandoon ka na… ang hirap-hirap palang manganak. So ‘yon, [nag-]epidural ako then madali na lahat. Pero sabi nga [ng doctor ko] na for a first-time mom, suwerte pa rin daw ako kasi hindi ako cesarean dahil sa laki ng baby,” she related.
