Ignacio presents footage that allegedly shows police extortion

MANILA, Philippines – Radio and TV host Arnell Ignacio has produced a copy of a CCTV footage that supposedly bolsters the veracity of his allegation of extortion against three officers of the Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group.
Ignacio showed the footage to "TV Patrol" which aired parts of it on April 5. In the footage, Ignacio is seen alighting from his car and entering a building. It also showed him exiting the building and boarding the same vehicle inside which Ignacio claims he handed the P50,000 to one of the policemen who was with him.
"There were so many people in that area. It was a very well lit place and nakita sila," he said.
Ignacio intends to pursue his case against the policemen whom he identified as PO3 Jose Levy Llagas, PO3 Neil Pono and PO1 Joel Lasala, intimating that he is already researching more info about the three.
"Nagkamali sila ng pakikialaman. Ako ang bading na aabot ang talak sa kasuhan! Pati pension nila, lusaw," he said in a separate interview with "Bomboradyo."
Ignacio admitted that the incident had left him feeling "humiliated" even as he revealed that one of the policemen had hit him.
“Pinalo pa ako nung isa, ang sabi, ‘Wag kung sino-sino tinatawagan mo,'” he said in an interview with "Juicy."
Llagas, Pono and Lasala are yet to issue a statement concerning the matter.
According to PNP-HPG head, Leonardo Espina, the officers have already been disarmed and confined to quarters. He urges Ignacio to forge on with the case.
"Bilin ni General Espina ay pinakausapan pa nga si Arnell Ignacio na 'wag siyang umatras," Edwin Butacan, spokesperson of the PNP Highway Patrol Group said.
