Big Bang, Se7en triumph at Singapore Entertainment Awards

SINGAPORE -- Boy band Big Bang and Se7en won at the Singapore Entertainment Awards 2011 held at Singapore Indoor Stadium on April 2.

Although the awards were meant to recognize the most popular artists in the Chinese entertainment industry, organizers included Korean artists and dramas in some of the categories.

Big Bang won the Most Popular Korean Artist, edging out TVXQ, 2PM, SHINee, Super Junior, Girls Generation, BEAST, JYJ, FT Island, and CNBlue. However, the boy band was unable to attend the ceremony due to previous commitments.

On the other hand, K-pop artist Se7en won the Best Asian Performance Award. He also performed at the ceremony, singing “Better Together,” a cut from his 2010 mini-album “Digital Bounce.”
