Kris Aquino shares why she chose 555 Tuna.

Wannabes, bring out those rosaries.

TV host-actress Kris Aquino revealed that one of her family’s secrets that helped their member Noynoy win a Senate seat was praying the rosary a total of 22 times every day during his campaign.

“My mom (former President Corazon Aquino) prayed nine rosaries a day back then---at may kasama pa yun na mass! After Noy won, she prayed four rosaries a day, all four mysteries.

“Lahat ng sisters ko, ganun din. Ako ang one [rosary] lang, kung ano lang yung [mystery] for the day,” said Kris during the press conference for her 555 Tuna product endorsement on Nov. 3.

Kris believes in the power of prayer so much that she recorded a rosary CD along with her sisters Viel Aquino-Dee, Ballsy Aquino-Cruz, and Pinky Aquino-Abellada.

“Mas bida ang mga kapatid ko sa album kasi twice a week sila [na mag-li-lead ng rosary]. The Joyful Mysteries is led by Viel, the Sorrowful by Ballsy, and the Glorious by Pinky. Ako, once a week lang mag-li-lead kung pakikinggan ang CD kasi sa akin ang Luminous Mysteries,” said Kris.

The youngest Aquino will include a copy of the album in the “Christmas Basket” she plans to give as gifts to family and friends in December.

“May kasama din 'yong basket na Cory book journal that will be available in the market by end of November. The journal will include my mother’s prayers, will show some of her paintings, and you can write on it as well,” she said.

Rounding up the “Cory collection” is another CD titled “Paalam, Maraming Salamat President Corazon C. Aquino” featuring all the songs that were sung during the late President’s funeral Mass.

Kris’ celebrity has, indeed, extended to her siblings. Her sisters are on the cover of a magazine while they, along with Sen. Noy, will be on the cover of another magazine next month.

“I’m so proud of them (Kris’ sisters), gumanda talaga sila dun sa cover nung magazine! Ang sabi nga ng Ate, ‘I can die [na] kasi may beautiful picture na ako na pwedeng itabi sa coffin ko!’

“Nakakatuwa kasi super hindi nag-hee-heels ang mga 'yon---forever naka-‘flats’ sila [unlike in the magazine cover]. At nabigatan daw ang mata nila sa lashes, at nung kinurlash-an at nilagyan ng mascara ['yong mga pilik-mata nila].

“Pero okay na lang daw 'yon kasi pag uwi nila sa bahay, ang sabi daw ng mga husbands nila, ‘My God, you’ve never looked so beautiful!’”

And Sen. Noy…what did he think of his picture?

“Gumanda daw ang kutis niya.”

On endorsing 555 tuna, Kris denied that she only clinched the deal with the brand after they saw how powerful her endorsements are during the on-air relief drive she co-anchored for the ‘Ondoy’ victims.

“It’s not true. Na-close na namin 'yong deal even before ‘Ondoy’ struck. Gusto lang nila talaga ako and, besides, kaibigan ni Boy (Abunda, Kris’ celebrity friend) yung mga may-ari ng 555 Tuna because he endorses their corned beef,” she said.

Asked which 555 Tuna variant is her favorite, Kris readily said: “The Afritada.”

“In fact, during the consumption shot, kinain ko talaga yung tuna na 'yon kasi hindi din ako nag-lunch that day. Usually, you’re allowed to spit out the product kapag shooting but I did not. Nasarapan talaga ako lalo na dun sa sauce. I should know because I cook, di ba?”

According to a press release, Kris had just premiered her new signature gesture in the 555 tuna advertisement, where she is shown giving high-fives to fellow mothers to express her approval of the brand.

“555 Tuna has everything a mom like me is looking for. It has a delicious taste my kids love. It’s healthy, and it’s super affordable,” Kris said in the press release.

555 Tuna has 13 variants all packed with vitamin A, Omega 3, and natural protein.
