TV host-actors Kris Aquino and Ruffa, Raymond and Richard Gutierrez registered with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) office in Glorietta, Makati on Oct. 28 in lieu of next year's election.

Kris, who had lived in Oakwood for years, is a returning voter in Makati. She recently sold her Valle Verde house to help her brother Noynoy Aquino in his bid for the presidency. She will be living in a condo unit by next month to give way to the new owners of her house.

"By Christmas [ay] nasa Makati na kami. So, six month 'yon na residency so dapat lang sa Makati ako bumoto talaga," Kris explained on "Showbiz News Ngayon," Oct. 29.

Twins Richard and Raymond are, unlike Kris, first time voters. They both live in Makati like their sister Ruffa.

"Yes, it's my first time to vote. I'm very excited," Richard said.

Raymond added: "Even in the States, I didn't vote. Sa 25 years of existence namin, I wasn't able to vote."

Kris admitted that she asked Mayor Jejomar Binay's help before she went to the Comelec office.

"Si Jun Jun Binay [son of Mayor Binay] ay kinakapatid ko, so we're beyond politics," she said.

Ruffa encourages other people to go out and register so they can practice their right to suffrage in 2010.

"Bantayan talaga nila ang  boto namin and 'yung mga mangyayari sa susunod na eleksyon.  Kahit na sasampu lang kami rito, we'd like to believe that our vote will count," she said.

Kris emphasized the need to register. "Kung gusto n'yong marinig ang boses ninyo, kailangang gumawa tayo ng paraan para mag-register tapos pag nag-register tayo, make that vote count."
