Malacañang on Saturday appealed to President Arroyo’s critics to respect the President as a woman and be sensitive to topics that would malign the President’s womanhood.

In a radio interview, deputy presidential spokesperson Lorelei Fajardo reminded Arroyo’s critics to give respect to the President as a woman, especially when sensitive topics are involved.

“We should be careful in what we would say. We should never forget that we’re not just talking about Gloria Arroyo as a person but as the President,” she said.

“May mga bagay na very private and personal and ibigay din natin kay Pangulo iyan kahit papaano,” she added.

Mrs. Arroyo had undergone a biopsy while on self-quarantine at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Muntinlupa City earlier this week. However, rumors circulated that she had also allegedly undergone breast implant. This was denied by Malacañang Friday.

Fajardo also assured that Arroyo is in good health condition.

“[The result of the biopsy] is clear, there is nothing to worry in first place and hindi na dapat pang palakihin ang issue,” she said, adding that the President has still been working,

especially on the upcoming State-of-the-Nation Address this July 27, even during her self-quarantine at the hospital.

“We would like to assure the people that the President is in the pink of health as certified by the doctors,” added Press Secretary Cerge Remonde.

Following her two-week state visits to Japan, Brazil and Hong Kong, and her two-day self-quarantine, Fajardo said the public will see a working President tomorrow, adding that various activities have already been lined up, including visits to the regions.
