Batangas and Cebu hammered out contrasting victories Saturday to stay unbeaten in Baseball Philippines Series 5 at the Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.

The Bulls denied the Dumaguete Uni-Bikers’ bid for a first win with a come-from-behind 2-1 victory while the Dolphins, the two-time champions, crushed the winless Forward Taguig Patriots, 8-1.

With the victory, Batangas hiked its record to a perfect 3-0 mark while Cebu posted its second straight in as many games.

Off-season acquisition Romeo Jasmin kept the Dumaguete offense at bay in the last five innings of the game for the win.

He also scored the go-ahead run in the bottom of the seventh frame when he stole home from third base after Dumaguete catcher Edmer del Socorro tried to pickoff Jesse Natanauan at second base.

Earlier, Natanauan tied the score on a one-run single to right field that drove home runner Ericson Eguia from second base.

Jasmin, a former Most Valuable Player and reigning Best Pitcher for UAAP champion Adamson University, allowed no hits and walked two batters since he came in to replace Bulls' ace Vladimir Eguia in the fifth frame.

Meanwhile, the Dolphins led 2-1 before pulling away with a six-run seventh behind run-scoring hits from Jonash Ponce, Joseph Orillana, Manuel Bacarisas and Joel Binarao.
