DAVAO CITY - A two-year-girl from Sta. Cruz town in Davao del Sur province was among the four fatalities due to coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Saturday.
Based on the profiles of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Davao region released by the Department of Health on Sunday, the girl had the onset of symptoms last September 30. She was admitted on October 3, and died last October 9.
Three other fatalities recorded on Saturday were all from Davao City, including a 55-year-old woman from Barangay 21-C, a 75-year-old man from A. Angliongto Sr., and a 27-year-old man from Barangay Cabantian who had the onset of symptoms on October 8 and died on the same day.
The region currently has 118 recorded COVID-19 deaths as no death was recorded on Sunday.
The DOH also recorded 76 new cases of COVID-19 in the region on Sunday, October 11. The region now has a total of 691 active cases.
"Of these new cases, 66 are from Davao City, eight are from Davao del Sur, and two are from Davao Occidental," the DOH said.
Meanwhile, the DOH recorded 25 recoveries.
"Among these, 18 are from Davao City, three each from Davao del Norte and Davao de Oro, and one from Davao Oriental," it said. The region now has 2,801 recoveries recorded.
