Rev. Fr. Anton Pascual, executive director of Caritas Manila and president of Radio Veritas, has called on the public to shift to a plant-based diet program for better health.

(CARITAS MANILA / MANILA BULLETIN) A plant-based diet, he said, will help boost the immune system and lessen one’s chances of getting sick. “Let us consume more vegetables because the plant virus is not harmful to humans. Stay healthy by eating more vegetables for a longer and healthy life and as a form of protection against viruses,” said Pascual, head of the Kilusang Plant Based, over Church-run Radio Veritas. Pascual expressed support to the call made by the health department for the public to avoid consuming “exotic” food, which may be a source of certain diseases like the coronavirus. “The animal virus is potentially harmful to humans so let us avoid eating these exotic dishes,” the priest said.
