The hostage-taking of a Hong Thai tourist bus near Quirino Grandstand has ended with the hostage-taker, Rolando Mendoza, dead on the assult carried out by Philippine National Police Special Weapons and Tactics team (PNP-SWAT).

Six hostages were rescued, while two hostages were reported dead.
