Blackwater hoping to spark winning culture with Cariaso

The Bossing tapped the service of the player-turned-coach in hopes of rebounding from a miserable season that saw the team miss out on the last two conferences and wound up with a total of 9-25 win-loss record.

Semblance of improvements were already seen after the team finished the PBA on Tour with a 7-4 record but team governor Siliman Sy believes they are barely scratching the surface of the long process of developing the winning culture.

“We have a new coach with coach Jeff Cariaso and he's bringing in a new type of culture into the team which we try to embrace. The new culture I think will not happen overnight . It's a process,” said Sy.

Cariaso though certainly has the pieces to speed up Blackwater’s development and rise from the cellar this season with proven winners leading the team in Jvee Casio, Baser Amer and Troy Rosario.

The Bossing also have a potent import in Chris Ortiz who had a solid stint in the 2023 FIBA World Cup while also adding second round pick Christian David to man the paint along with Yousef Taha.

Although yet to be lineup due to his standing contract obligations with his team Bacoor Strikers in the MPBL, former San Beda star James Kwekuteye is also set to join the team, adding potential firepower.

“The winning culture hopefully si coach jeff will be able to mold the team,” added Sy.
