909 Caloocan residents hired in 3 mega job fairs

A total of 909 job seekers were hired on the spot at the 3 mega job fairs held by the Caloocan City government last February.  

As part of the celebratory events for the city’s 62nd Anniversary, three job fairs held last February 16, 22, and 29, achieved a total hiring rate of 45 percent which was higher than the 30 percent success rate recommended as standard by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

Mayor Dale “Along” Malapitan expressed gratitude to the city Public Employment Service Office and DOLE for making the job fairs possible. 

“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa ating Public Employment Service Office, sa DOLE, at sa mga katuwang nating pribadong kumpanya para sa pagtutulungan upang maging matagumpay ang pagdaraos ng mga mega job fair. Nakakatuwa po ito dahil kasabay ng pagdiriwang natin ng Cityhood Anniversary, konkretong epekto sa kabuhayan ng mga Batang Kankaloo naman ang hatid ng mga job fair (I would like to thank our Public Employment Service Office, the DOLE, and our partner private companies for their cooperation to make the holding of the mega job fair a success. It's timely because at the same time as we celebrate the Cityhood Anniversary, job fairs have a concrete effect on the livelihood of Batang Kankaloo),” Malapitan said.

 

“Asahan niyo po na hindi lang ito dahil may Caloocan Day ngayong buwan. Marami pa pong oportunidad galing sa pamahalaang lungsod kaya sana po ay sulitin ninyo ang mga ito (Expect that it's not just because there is Caloocan Day this month. There are many more opportunities from the city government so I hope you make the most of them),” he added.

Malapitan also mentioned the city’s other projects for its citizens. 

“Uulitin ko po, hindi lang mga trabaho ang gusto nating maipagkaloob sa ating mga kababayan. Kasama rin po sa hangarin natin ang mga disente at sapat na negosyo at kabuhayan lalo na sa mga vulnerable sectors kagaya ng senior citizens, solo parents, at mga persons with disabilities (Let me repeat, it's not just jobs that we want to provide to our countrymen. Our desire also includes decent and adequate businesses and livelihoods, especially in vulnerable sectors such as senior citizens, single parents, and persons with disabilities),” he said.
