Manchester and Papin concert re-set Dec. 18 and 19
Viva Entertainment has announced the re-scheduling of the much-awaited Sept. 18 and 20 shows of Melissa Manchester and Imelda Papin entitled “2 International Music Icons” to Dec. 18 at the Waterfront Hotel in Cebu and on Dec. 19 at the Philippine International Convention Center in Manila due to scheduling problems.
The holiday special produced by Viva Entertainment and 618 International Entertainment, Inc. is being brought to the Philippines after the two international music icons held their highly successful concert in Las Vegas.
‘The Italian Job’ on TV5’s 5MAX Movies
A passion that cannot be denied and a betrayal that cannot be forgiven will be witnessed on Sept. 18 features the popular suspense movie “Urban Legend,” based on the premise that a killer is using methods of death described in certain urban legends as a means to kill his victims.
Award-winning and critically acclaimed “The Italian Job,” a movie based on a 1969 Michael Caine film of the same name, is showing on Sept. 19 starring Mark Wahlberg, Charlize Theron, Edward Norton, Seth Green, Jason Statham, Mos Def, and Donald Sutherland. As a special barangay screening, TV5 is also having a barangay-wide simulcast of “The Italian Job” on Saturday in Brgy. Buting in Pasig City.
Mr. Miyagi is back on Sept. 20 and he takes a new pupil under his wing, a troubled teenage girl played by Hilary Swank in the fourth movie in the “Karate Kid” series, “The Next Karate Kid.” Catch 5MAX Movies every 9 p.m. on TV5.
Manila auditions for Hong Kong Disneyland
Auditions for Hong Kong Disneyland’s first a cappella quartet will be held at The Music School of Ryan Cayabyab in Robinsons Galleria from 10 a.m. to 12 n.n. on Sept. 18.
Soprano, alto, tenor and bass aspirants will be asked to sing a short solo piece of his/her choice. Singers must provide the vocal-piano music sheet of their choice song. Qualified singers will be asked to sing a prescribed audition piece in a SATB quartet.
Composer Ryan Cayabyab’s audition production team announced that the a cappella quartet will be the newest performing group in Hong Kong Disneyland. The Disney talent casting team is in search of professional performers at least 18 years old who posses both excellent musicianship and showmanship.

Ballet goes Freestyle
Ballet Manila, led by its artistic Lisa Macuja-Elizalde, teams up with renowned pop-rock band Freestyle for a free concert marking the season opening of Star City on Sept. 18 at the Aliw Theater. Jinky Vidal lends her vocal prowess to the band’s monster hits, which will be interpreted onstage by the country’s foremost exponents of contemporary ballet. Visitors to the country’s top amusement park, led by special guest celebrity Jolina Magdangal, will enjoy this rare musical offering apart from the newest adrenaline-pumping attraction Lazer Blazer, to be unveiled that day.
