2 drug dealers killed in Parañaque City buy bust, ₱244-M shabu seized

Recuenco Anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine National Police (PNP) killed two suspected drug dealers, including a foreigner, and confiscated 36 kilos of shabu worth P244 million in a drug buy-bust operation in Parañaque City on Saturday. Romeo Caramat, director of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG), said the operation in Parañaque City and the discovery of the ₱5.1 billion worth of shabu in Marilao, Bulacan, are connected. He, however, did not divulge more information as the follow-up operation against the drug syndicate is ongoing. Caramat identified the slain suspects as Jin Long Cai, a Chinese, and his Filipino cohort Danny Apiga. The PNP-DEG had earlier discovered at least 756 kilos of shabu in a warehouse in Bulacan. A Chinese and two Filipino women were collared during the operation. As part of the follow-up operation, police and agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) were able to negotiate for the purchase of shabu from the group of Jin on Saturday along Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard in Parañaque City. But during the buy-bust at around 4:30 p.m., the suspects noticed that they were dealing with cops, triggering a shootout that resulted in their death. Seized from them were 36 packs marked with Chinese characters, containing more or less a kilo of shabu. Aside from the 36 packs of shabu, also confiscated were the suspects’ car and two .45 pistols. The ₱2-million buy-bust money was also recovered, according to Caramat.
